On April 14, 2022, the cloud signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation framework agreement between Beijing Gas Turbine Technology Co., Ltd. of SPIC(hereinafter referred to as BGTC) and the Institute of Energy of Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center was held simultaneously in Beijing and Hefei via the network platform. Assistant to the general manager of SPIC, Shu Guogang, party secretary of UGTC and chairman of the board of directors, Yu Zhengchun, chief accountant, and Yu Chunhua, member of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of UGTC, as well as Li Jiangang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of the Institute of Energy, Song Yuntao, executive president, and Hu Haomin, vice president, attended and witnessed the signing. Relevant leaders of both parties were participated.

Academician Li Jiangang expressed his expectation for the next step after the signing of the strategic cooperation between the two sides. The two sides will make use of their technological advantages and R&D conditions, focusing on the joint efforts in the fields of hydrogen energy and ammonia application, gas turbine technology, nuclear fusion, etc., to provide core technologies and key equipment for the green, low-carbon and sustainable development of China's energy industry, and make use of the Institute's own advantages to provide a modest contribution to the research work related to China's heavy gas.

Chairman Shu Guogang said that the two sides will jointly tackle key problems around the key technologies of advanced gas turbines and work together to create a national innovation platform in the field of gas turbine technology, hoping to promote a new round of energy revolution through joint cooperation. He also expressed his expectation of establishing a full-process innovation mechanism for Industry-University-Research, fully implementing the framework agreement, achieving results and seeing results through innovative mechanisms and complementary advantages and joint exploration in technology development, project application, personnel training and international cooperation.

In the future, the two sides will give full play to their advantages, focus on major national projects, the independence of energy equipment, and the demand for new energy technology development and industrial promotion, integrate relevant resources, enhance cooperation levels, expand cooperation areas, and innovate cooperation models, and jointly carry out key technology research on China's energy security, technology collaboration and industrial promotion in independent heavy gas turbine industry.
