A few days ago, with the unanimous approval of the Anhui Provincial Accreditation Expert Panel and relying on the Smart Electric Power Center of Institute of Energy, Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center (hereinafter referred to as “Smart Power Center”), the Electric Power Testing Center of Institute of Energy, Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center (hereinafter referred to as the “Power Detection Center”) obtained the CMA Laboratory Qualification Certificate on March 2, 2023.
The Smart Power Center, led by Hefei University of Technology, is driven by the major strategic needs of national energy security, efficient utilization and low-carbon development, takes the application basic theoretical research and common key technology research and development of new energy-based power systems as its own responsibility, and focuses on four major directions: power devices and advanced power conversion, key equipment and systems for energy storage and hydrogen energy, safety of power equipment and facilities, and new energy and low-carbon power. It carries out basic theoretical innovation and technical research in the whole chain application from materials, apparatus, equipment to systems to build an international leading R&D platform, create a first-class R&D team, cultivate international leading scientific and technological achievements, making contributions to the energy revolution and the realization of the peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality.
The certificate indicates that the Center’s testing ability and management level have been recognized by Anhui market supervision department, which lays a foundation for giving full play to its own advantages in the field of testing to better serve the production and operation of enterprises and the high-quality development of local economy, and also adds a beautiful business card for further expanding the business of the Center.
On January 13, 2023, Anhui Comprehensive Testing Laboratory Qualification Accreditation Center appointed the Provincial Metrology Accreditation Technical Review Team to conduct on-site review of the Electric Power Testing Center of Institute of Energy. The review team conducted a comprehensive survey of the quality system operation and inspection and testing capabilities of the Electric Power Testing Center according to the Comprehensive Assessment for Inspection Body and Laboratory Mandatory Approval - General Requirements for Inspection Body and Laboratory RBT 214-2017, and conducted on-site review by listening to work reports, inspecting the work site, viewing field tests, and randomly checking archival materials.
It is learned that as an assessment for metrological verification, testing ability and reliability of inspection and testing institutions, CMA laboratory qualification is a threshold that must be passed before entering the inspection and testing industry, and it is also a mandatory assessment of inspection and testing institutions by government authorities. The inspection report with CMA signature may be used for product quality evaluation, results and judicial appraisal with legal effect.
The CMA certificate is the recognition for the inspection and testing ability of the Electric Power Testing Center, which indicates that the report issued by the Center on the grid-connected performance test of photovoltaic inverters has scientific authority and social credibility. Next, the Electric Power Testing Center of Institute of Energy plans to further expand the review scope, and add testing items such as grid-connected performance testing of wind farms/energy storage power stations, reliability testing of power devices, performance testing of energy storage batteries, and lightning protection devices, so as to provide broader technical support for the evaluation, testing, verification and development of smart power grids in the future.
